Okay, okay. I'm getting feedback that I need more pictures. So here you go, complements of the New York Times dining and wine page, buttery polenta with olive oil fried onion and garlicy swiss chard. Mine did not look like this. I served it on a plate instead of a bowl (the polenta is think enough to stay in a mashed potato-like glop), and I couldn't find swiss chard, so I used kale (which wilted down but kept it's shape like thick dark peices of lettace). My sexy husband liked the polenta and eggs. Neither of us really understood the kale/green stuff. It didn't go at all. My sexy husband said he'd rather have this served with bacon. Of course. Maybe the green foliage was supposed to make you feel like this was dinner. It wasn't. Not for me, at least. This was brunch at best, but it really reminded me of savory grits with eggs. This was breakfast, and, you know, interesting or not, I don't really like having breakfast for dinner. So it was good...my sexy husband wants to have it again sometime, but I won't serve it to company for dinner (maybe for breakfast with bacon but not for dinner).
So far my egg challenge has been disappointing. I'd make the shrimp devilled eggs for a party. That's it so far. If you're looking for a recipe to make, you have to try the carrot and lentil salad I posted earlier...even if you've never tried lentils. I let a few people from my office try it last week, and they all asked for the recipe (one person went out a bought the ingredients that night). Trust me, and try it.
Will you try it if I post a picture?
